Our Dodgeball Leagues in Toronto create a friendly and fun atmosphere where you can enjoy playing that popular game we all remember from grade school gym class.  Ever since the release of the 2004 movie 'Dodgeball', starring Vince Vaughan and Ben Stiller, the sport of dodgeball has grown exponentially in popularity as an adult sport. People who are new to dodgeball are often surprised by the great workout you get.  You are constantly moving when you are on the court!

In our Dodgeball leagues and tournaments, we have changed the rules slightly to make the game a little safer and more fun.  The main difference is the ball.  We use a soft ball (like a dense Nerf ball) with a latex coating.  This means that you can throw the ball quite hard, but when it hits you it doesn’t hurt. We also utilize slightly modified basic Dodgeball rules which sees each game start with 6 players per side and continues until one team has eliminated the other.  A player is eliminated by either being hit by the ball or having their thrown ball caught.

As one of the favourite sports leagues in Toronto, Toronto Dodgeball focuses only on running top quality dodgeball leagues throughout the entire year. We offer three levels of dodgeball leagues; recreational dodgeball, intermediate dodgeball, and competitive dodgeball: 

• Recreational: Players have very basic skills (Throwing & Dodging). Some teams and players may be playing in an organized Dodgeball League for the first time
• Intermediate: Players have good skills (Throwing & Dodging). Most teams and players have played in an organized Dodgeball League before
• Competitive: Players have very strong skills (Throwing & Dodging). Many teams and players have had a fair amount of success playing in organized Dodgeball Leagues

Here are a few other factors that make Toronto Dodgeball different from the other dodgeball leagues around:

• Each game is officiated by 2 referees
• Your team plays within a 70 minute time slot each week (two 35-minute games against two different teams)
• Many people prefer this to playing one team for 55 minutes. Plus you're playing 27% longer sessions (70 mins vs 55 mins)
• Games are played with 6 coated FOAM balls (four 7-inch balls, two 8.25-inch balls). Most people find it easier to throw the smaller balls
• Friendlier rules:
• Can dribble the ball on their own side
• Cannot get their own team-mates out
• Do not regulate who comes on for a catch
• Can hold as many balls as you wish
• Same court location each division night (unless there are venue conflicts)
• Each team makes the playoffs; plays for championship title
• End of season pizza & pop for every team
• Championship prizes, MVP prize & team name engraved on the Championship Trophy
